LIK Movie Review: Love Insurance Kompany

LIK: Love Insurance Kompany tries to do something different — a rom-com set in a futuristic world where love is decided by algorithms. And honestly, that idea itself makes you curious from the start.

The film follows a world where an app decides your perfect partner, but things get messy when emotions don’t match the data. It’s a fun setup, and for a good part of the film, it actually works.

What Works in LIK

The biggest strength of the film is Pradeep Ranganathan. He brings a very natural charm to the role, and his performance feels effortless. Whether it’s the romantic scenes or the lighter moments, he keeps things engaging.

Krithi Shetty adds a calm and graceful presence, and the chemistry between the two feels genuine in parts.

Then comes S.J. Suryah, who completely steals the show whenever he appears. His quirky and slightly over-the-top performance adds energy and humor that the film really needs.

Another big win is Anirudh Ravichander’s music. The songs and background score elevate several scenes and help maintain the film’s vibe.

The first half, especially, is quite enjoyable — it’s light, funny, and has enough freshness to keep you invested.

Where It Falls Short

The problem starts in the second half. The film begins to slow down, and the same idea of “love vs technology” is repeated a bit too much.

Some emotional scenes don’t land as strongly as they should, and the screenplay starts feeling stretched. You can sense the film losing grip where it should have been tighter.

The visuals and VFX are decent, but not always convincing for a futuristic setting.

Overall Experience

LIK is not a bad film — it’s actually quite watchable if you go in with the right expectations. It’s more about enjoying the ride than looking for something very deep or groundbreaking.

It feels like a weekend watch with friends or your partner — something light, fun, and easygoing.

Rating and Verdict

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5)

LIK: Love Insurance Kompany is an entertaining but slightly inconsistent film. Strong performances, music, and a fresh idea keep it engaging, even if the execution isn’t perfect.

Final Verdict

A fun, modern rom-com with a sci-fi twist that works more often than it fails — but doesn’t fully reach its potential.
